Couples Therapy
a way forward, together
Working Together
Something’s just not the same, is it? It didn’t happen overnight, it didn’t come out of nowhere, but you feel the difference every day. Small misunderstandings, unspoken feelings, awkward tension—everything piling up until it’s tough to recognize the connection you used to have. Most couples choose therapy not because of one big thing that’s happened, but because of a distance that has grown over time.
At Rooted Works, I don’t blame, I don’t take sides, and I don’t pressure either of you to show up with the answers. My style is intuitive, collaborative, and focused on nurturing safety and understanding. I don’t tell either of you what to do or how to feel. Instead, we begin by breathing and listening, which naturally slows us down and opens us to curiosity and understanding. This way, we can reveal what’s really going on beneath the surface. Our work is designed to realign the needs, patterns, and emotions that shape your relationship.
Change happens not by forcing it, but by creating space for each of you to be truly heard and understood.
Exploring Together
Couples counseling can support you if you’re navigating:

-
Emotional distance
-
Difficulty supporting each other’s emotional needs
-
Loss of connection, affection, or intimacy
-
Recurring cycles of conflict or misunderstanding
-
Communication breakdowns
-
Feeling more like roommates than partners
-
Betrayal, hurt, or loss of trust
-
Stress from parenting, finances, or major transitions
I will help you understand each other more deeply, not just solve what’s on the surface.

Change, Together
Every person is a story. When people come together, those stories intertwine in ways both beautiful and challenging. At Rooted Works, I integrate over 15+ years of training in relational and trauma-informed psychotherapy to guide you both in understanding the deeper dynamics shaping your relationship. This way, I help you build a new way of responding to each other with clarity and compassion.
My approach draws from:

-
Trauma-informed couples psychotherapy
-
Somatic awareness and integration
-
Somatic CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
-
DBT-informed (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) principles
-
Attachment-based therapy
-
Mindfulness and grounding practices
I help couples work with their thoughts, emotions, bodies, and lived experiences, so that compassion, understanding, and change can take root in your relationship.

How Much are Sessions?
60-minute session: $250

Rooted Works is a private-pay, out-of-network practice. I do not take insurance. I'm happy to provide an insurance reimbursement form for clients to submit to their provider themselves. Coverage varies by plan and is not guaranteed.

Sessions are offered online or in person in San Diego. I also work with New Jersey clients via secure telehealth.

If you're not sure where to start, I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute call with me to discover how we can work together. Many couples wait months or even years to reach out, often afraid that it’s "too late." It’s not. You don't have to do this alone. I'm here when you're ready.
