Investment in Therapy

Rooted Works accepts Aetna or Carelon Behavioral Health. Private-pay sessions are also welcome at $265 for a 55-minute session. If you're using insurance, your cost will depend on your specific plan and coverage.

My fee is $265 per 55-minute session.
I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Understanding Out-of-Network Benefits:

Many PPO insurance plans include out-of-network mental health benefits. Reimbursement rates and eligibility vary based on your specific insurance plan. Because coverage differs among carriers and policies, I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to understand your benefits.
You may wish to ask the following questions:

-
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
-
What is my deductible, and how much of it has been met?
-
What percentage of the allowed amount is reimbursed after my deductible is met?
-
What is the allowed amount for CPT codes 90791, 90834, 90837, 90846, and 90847?
-
Is there a limit to the number of therapy sessions covered each year?
-
What is my out-of-pocket maximum, and how much has been applied toward it?
-
What is the process for submitting superbills?

Having this information can help you better understand your potential financial responsibility for services.

Common CPT Codes

The following billing codes are commonly used for psychotherapy services and may be helpful when speaking with your insurance company:

90791 – Initial Diagnostic Evaluation
-
90834 – Individual Psychotherapy, 45 minutes
-
90837 – Individual Psychotherapy, 60 minutes
-
90846 – Family Psychotherapy (without the identified patient present)
